Financial Snapshot
The River Centre concept is a community‑focused leisure facility built on a sustainable and responsible business model. The venture is supported by a team of experienced professionals spanning planning, project management, construction, leisure, marketing, tourism, hospitality, business development, regeneration, public consultation, and feasibility studies—including those relating to museums, community centres, and sporting institutions.
Our approach is grounded in long‑term operational viability to ensure the centre can continually deliver meaningful services for the community. The initial business plan takes a 15‑year view, incorporating forward‑looking, community‑based leases such as NHS dental and GP services to support their stability.
Operational Funding Streams:
The River Centre’s day‑to‑day sustainability is supported through a wide range of engaging, community‑minded revenue sources, including:
• Soft play areas
• Trampolining and foam‑play experiences
• Bowling
• Augmented climbing walls
• Exercise, music, art, and STEM classes
• Ropes course activities
• Climbing towers
• Onsite cafés, nosh nooks, bars, and retail outlets
• Private room hire for classes, events, and regular school bookings
• Tap‑to‑pay onsite amenities
Additional income is generated through:
• Museum leasing of the existing Wind and The Willows gallery (minimal)
• Studio leasing for NHS GP/dental services and new or existing local businesses
• Ticket sales for concerts, performances, gigs, and exhibitions
• Henley Royal Regatta competitor hire
Together, these revenue streams help ensure the centre remains a vibrant destination for recreation, culture, and community gathering.
Potential One‑Off Funding Streams:
To complement operational income, the River Centre may also benefit from external funding opportunities, including:
• Grants from Arts Council England (ACE)
• Donations, sponsorships, and collaborative partnerships
These contributions support the enhancement of facilities, the development of accessible programmes, and the continued strengthening of our role as a community asset.
